Weekend Equipment Maintenance

Northern Lights Landscape Contractor – Milford, NH 03055

Established landscaping company looking for experienced person who has knowledge of general maintenance and repairs on landscaping equipment which would include; oil changes, greasing, cleaning and upkeep to maintain the equipment. Also, a general knowledge of repairs and maintenance to vehicles and trailers, such as oil changes, break jobs and electrical wiring.

Saturdays and Sundays, Flexible hours available. Competitive pay based on experience.

Landscape Construction Foreman

$22 - $28 an hour

Northern Lights Landscape is seeking an experienced hardscape installation and construction foreman. The qualified candidate for this position will be able to use their technical skills to create a multitude of hardscape features while maintaining personal and job site safety at all times. This position will lead technicians; therefore, some supervisory background is beneficial. We are willing to train the right candidate based on their level of experience and need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Landscape Supervisor and crew members on installing landscape projects at residential and commercial sites, with scope including but not limited to: hardscaping, masonry, carpentry, plantings, lighting and irrigation.

  • Understand plant health and needs for proper care, pruning and installation

  • Understand grading and drainage on site and determine site conditions for proper flow

  • Read site plans and work with supervisor and design team to ensure site layout is consistent with site design

  • Proactively communicate, support and coordinate with the supervisor to ensure successful results

  • Work effectively and efficiently with specialized equipment, including: Skid Steer Loader, Plate compactor, Jack Hammer, Auger, Trencher, Mitre and circular saws

  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles

  • Plan and assess when equipment and materials will be needed

  • Maintain good relationships with clients and co-workers

  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor

  • Supervise and oversee smaller projects and other workers independent of the supervisor as needed

  • Maintain organized vehicle, tools, and inventory to ensure seamless operation of job site and workflow

Qualified candidate must have ability to build:

  • Patios (paver, bluestone, etc.)

  • Walls (fieldstone, boulder, block)

  • Wooden Elements (decks, stairs, fencing)

  • Ornamental Features (ponds, river beds, accent boulders, fire pits)

  • Masonry Features (experience preferred)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and undergo background check

  • Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation

  • Must have or able to obtain DOT medical card

Requirements:

  • Ability to work well with others and have a positive attitude

  • Computer skills required: Excel, Word

  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. minimum

  • Familiar with low voltage lighting and irrigation installations

  • Familiar with proper installation techniques for hardscape installations including concrete products and natural stone

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma /GED or Tech School

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in landscape project management

In addition, all candidates must have a clean driving record, pass a pre-employment drug screen and complete a post-offer physical.

Truck Driver/Equipment Operator

Position Overview:

The Truck Driver/Equipment Operator has the experience to work under minimal supervision as a member of the team and directs the activities of two or more team members at a job site. The Truck driver/Equipment operator is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of construction techniques. The Truck driver/Equipment operator is responsible for safely and efficiently producing quality landscape construction & maintenance services that meet or exceed the standards of clients and management.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities consist of working with the design team and project manager to implement multiple landscape projects from beginning to end including site work, hardscaping, plantings and lawns. Must have a proven track record in safely operating Truck and trailer combinations, and a variety of mechanical equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, hydraulic plate compactors, etc.

Knowledge & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, plus 5-7 years experience in the excavation, landscaping and/or hardscaping field is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and field layout
• Working knowledge of excavation, grading & drainage
• Must be able to read and write
• Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must
• CDL A License & DOT Medical Card is required
• Hoisting license 2A is required

Hardscape Installer

Northern Lights is looking for a full time Hardscape Installer whose duties would include coordination and installation of various hardscape projects including all types of stone walls, patios, steps, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, etc.

  • Ability to read blue prints and establish grade elevations, including proper drainage planning and execution.

  • Understanding of landscape lighting and irrigation a plus.

  • This candidate must have good communication skills, work well with others, and have the skill level to work on a project from start to finish.

  • 3-5 years experience required. Pay based upon experience.

Northern Lights is looking to hire experienced, full-time Landscape Foreman.
